Be our Valentine and become a Monthly Donor!
February is a time to celebrate our most treasured relationships. While you are showing love to the Valentines and sweethearts in your life, please extend that love by becoming a Monthly Donor.
Monthly Giving provides predictable funds to help us continually support our participants towards housing.
Choose a level of gift that makes the most sense for you – whether that’s $10, $25 or $100 per month… and we’ll give you a token of our love: a Unity Project ceramic bistro mug!
London receives Anonymous $25M gift to fight homelessness… plus!
At his first state-of-the-city address on January 17, Mayor Josh Morgan announced that an anonymous family pledged $25 million to fight homelessness in London. If Londoners can raise an additional $5 million, the donor will match that too!
Unity Project’s Chuck Lazenby hopes the donation prompts our City to “rock the boat” and push other levels of government to prevent homelessness at the system level:
“This is an amazing thing! This level of investment is what is necessary to respond to the crisis we are experiencing, but we need to fix the broken system that underlies it including to increase the deeply affordable housing stock, and increase social assistance to meet market rents. If we don’t, then we will remain in perpetual crisis, perpetually relying on big private donations for emergency response.”
London Community Foundation will administer the fund in alignment with a model of care issuing from the homelessness summits and to be released this month.
*** Eligibility of the fund is yet to be determined and will take a while to begin flowing to community. We still need your support now!
