From tent-city protest to community progress… our work continues.

25 years. $25,000 by Thanksgiving.

For 25 years, our London community has stood with Unity Project and with people experiencing homelessness.

Now, help us mark this milestone by raising $25K for our work ahead.

Thanks to our community, we reached our first $5,000, unlocking Ron and Susan Holliday’s $5K anniversary gift, taking us to $10,000.

Now Tom and Joanne Cowan have stepped forward with another $5K gift to be unlocked once we achieve the next $5K.

25 YEARS OF UNITY

Our project of unity began in 2001, when youth activists and people experiencing homelessness pitched tents in Campbell Memorial Park during the Canada Summer Games, using the spotlight to illuminate homelessness and poverty in our city.

The message was clear then, and it remains clear today: people sleeping outside aren’t statistics. They are our neighbours. Homelessness and poverty are not personal failures, but symptoms of systems that have failed people.

From protest came progress. Today, we provide a coordinated, housing-focused response, from meeting immediate needs and building trusted relationships, to helping people find and secure housing and supporting them to remain housed.

Through it all, our values have remained the same: respect, cooperation, interdependence and compassion.

OUR WORK CONTINUES

This anniversary celebrates everyone who has shaped Unity Project: participants, staff, volunteers, donors, partners, advocates and neighbours, and everyone who believes that each person deserves a safe, stable place to call home.

We don’t hope for another 25 years of homelessness services. We hope for a community where we’re no longer needed. Until then, our work continues.
