UPdates – Love in the Time of COVID-19

UPdates – Love in the Time of COVID-19

The pandemic has unsettled life for all of us. It has heightened and further exposed the failures in our system with the worst effects falling unequally on the marginalized and vulnerable in our society. It is also bringing us together in a collective effort to manage this crisis. To learn more about Unity Project’s pandemic response please visit  www.unityproject.ca/covid-19

Event UPdates

Our fundraising events serve an important function even beyond financial support – they keep us connected. Please stay tuned:

  • UPwithART – being re-imagined as a virtual community event and online auction. Date and Details TBD. www.upwithart.ca
  • UP Golf Classic – Save the Date! 16 September 2020 – just might happen in some physical form. www.upgolfclassic.ca

Here’s how to show your Love in the Time of COVID-19

  • Stay safe. Please do not deliver unsolicited supply donations.
  • Please do make a financial donation.
  • To assist with pandemic relief costs, please donate via
    https://unityproject.ca/donate-covid-19-response/

Financial donations are needed – now more than ever

Financial donations are needed – now more than ever

London is full of great people seeking to know what supplies they can help us assemble in this time of crisis. This post will address that matter.

Please share it widely with your social circles. Financial donations are needed, now more than ever. We need to minimize interactions with donors both at the front and back end so as to maximize the effectiveness of your compassion and generosity.

We must reduce physical transactions conducted at our shelter to protect participants, frontline staff and community. We need to streamline our limited human resources to priority tasks in shelter and not in complex community organizing (thought there may come a time for that).

The postponement of our flagship fundraiser, UPwithART (and possibly future events) will hit us hard. Monetary donations allow us to purchase exactly what we need, when we need it, and utilizing the safest delivery methods possible.

Please consider the amount of money you would have spent on goods and gas and convert that into a monetary donation. You can even add a little for the tax you will save and the tax credit you will get. You can encourage your friends and family to do the same.

You can donate online directly through our website (via Canada Helps) (links below) or mail cheques attention Silvia Langer. Attention of Silvia Langer Unity Project for Relief of Homelessness in London 717 Dundas Street London ON N5W 2Z5 t 519 433 8700 ext 201 c 519 494 4360.
