Financial donations are needed – now more than ever

Financial donations are needed – now more than ever

London is full of great people seeking to know what supplies they can help us assemble in this time of crisis. This post will address that matter.

Please share it widely with your social circles. Financial donations are needed, now more than ever. We need to minimize interactions with donors both at the front and back end so as to maximize the effectiveness of your compassion and generosity.

We must reduce physical transactions conducted at our shelter to protect participants, frontline staff and community. We need to streamline our limited human resources to priority tasks in shelter and not in complex community organizing (thought there may come a time for that).

The postponement of our flagship fundraiser, UPwithART (and possibly future events) will hit us hard. Monetary donations allow us to purchase exactly what we need, when we need it, and utilizing the safest delivery methods possible.

Please consider the amount of money you would have spent on goods and gas and convert that into a monetary donation. You can even add a little for the tax you will save and the tax credit you will get. You can encourage your friends and family to do the same.

You can donate online directly through our website (via Canada Helps) (links below) or mail cheques attention Silvia Langer. Attention of Silvia Langer Unity Project for Relief of Homelessness in London 717 Dundas Street London ON N5W 2Z5 t 519 433 8700 ext 201 c 519 494 4360.

A Holiday Tradition – Santa Sacks!

It’s that time of year again where many are coming together to celebrate the giving season with friends and family, and Unity would love your help in bringing the holiday spirit to those without a home or family this season.

Here are some of the items you can donate to Unity for this project:

  • Socks (white if possible)
  • Underwear
  • Basic Hygiene products – shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes & toothpaste, lip balm, moisturizer, small first aid kits etc
  • Warm outerwear: scarves, hats, mitts, thermal socks
  • Combs/ Brushes
  • Bus Tickets
  • Sweets – Candies, Chocolate, cookies, candy canes etc
  • Gift Cards (i.e Tim Horton’s)
  • Small Non-Perishable foods
and many other items are always welcomed!

If you are unable to donate an item we are also accepting financial donations. If you’re interested in this avenue please click the following link: Donate for Santa Sacks !
