Your gift will be used to ensure that those experiencing homelessness in London receive compassionate care throughout the journey from emergency shelter to obtaining housing and toward long-term stability in the community – whatever it takes! Your gifts are vital, comprising nearly 40% of Unity Project’s annual budget. You keep food on the table, a roof over our heads, and a team of awesome staff delivering leading shelter and stability services 24/7/365. You make a stay at our shelter comfortable, productive and as short as possible.
Gifts $25 and over receive a charitable tax receipt, providing we are in possession of information required by the CRA. For online gifts, a transaction confirmation is emailed automatically following your successful donation – this transaction confirmation is not a tax receipt. Official donation tax receipts follow.
Receipts are generally issued within two weeks or less from the time of the donation.
Some charities are accepting in-kind gifts and are well set up to do so. The Mission Store is nearby and our participants can shop there freely on a voucher system. Habitat for Humanity accepts furnishings, building materials and more. Some of these charities also have a recycling service for electronics and textiles, and some can do pick-up by arrangement.
