Community fundraisers help strengthen our response to homelessness while bringing people together in meaningful and creative ways. Your efforts help ensure we can continue responding to immediate needs with dignity, compassion, and care. 

We would greatly appreciate being notified in advance about fundraising initiatives on our behalf to ensure transparency and alignment with Unity Project's brand and mission, and so that we can properly recognize and give thanks.

To help ensure a positive experience for everyone involved, we ask that community fundraisers follow these simple guidelines: 

  • Fundraisers must align with Unity Project's mission and values.
  • Organizers are responsible for managing and carrying out their own fundraiser. 
  • Organizers are responsible for obtaining any required permits, licenses, or insurance, and to adhere to all applicable federal, provincial, or municipal regulations. 
  • Unity Project does not assume any financial or legal responsibility.
  • Unity Project's logo may not be used without approval. 
  • We cannot provide staff attendance or promotional support.
  • Proceeds to be submitted to Unity Project within 30 days. 
  • Charitable tax receipt cannot be issued for third-party event proceeds.
  • Charitable tax receipts may be issued to individual contributors donating directly to Unity Project or where complete donor and gift info is provided and CRA-compliant. Please contact us in advance if you are expecting tax receipts to be issued. 

*It's easy to create a fundraiser on Facebook and Instagram using tools provided by those platforms. Donations are processed, receipted and conveyed to Unity Project through the PayPal Giving Fund, and no further action is required on your part. These fundraisers and the contributing donors are (typically) anonymous to Unity Project, and you do not need to inform us or obtain agreement in advance, unless you require use of our logo.
